The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a high resolution, full touch screen device based on Nokia S60 5th Edition platform. Code named as Nokia Tube, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic boasts of a large 3.2“ resistive touch screen which provides a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels (with 16:9 aspect ratio). The resistive touch screen includes a haptic feedback, to make you feel the press when you touch a button or menu on the screen. The device supports multiple input methods through an on-screen alphanumeric keypad, full and mini QWERTY keyboard and handwriting recognition.

The fully loaded spec of Nokia 5800 includes features such as 3.2 megapixel camera, Surround sound speakers, WIFI (802.11 b/g), A-GPS with Nokia maps 2.0 Touch, and 3G (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps) support. The built-in ambient light sensor works intelligently by adjusting the brightness automatically to different lighting environments. During a call, the backlight will go off when you raise the phone to your ear. The accelerometer sensor auto-rotates the screen to landscape mode when rotated.

The 3.2 megapixel camera in Nokia 5800 XpressMusic features a Carl Zeiss lens, autofocus and LED flash. The device also captures videos at a resoluton of 640x480(30fps). Videos and images can be shared quickly via services such as Share on Ovi, Flickr, or Facebook.

The Nokia 5800 has a rated battery life which can provide up to 8.8 hours talk time and 16.75 days of standby time in a GSM network. Also the 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery is capable of providing 3.4 hours of Web browsing, three hours of video calling, up to 5.2 hours of video playback, 1.5 days of music playback and 5.6 hours of video gaming time.
