Your Personal Video Camera

The biggest addition to the new 5th generation iPod nano is the built-in video camera that lets you capture crispy clear videos (640 by 480 pixels, up to 30 frames per second with AAC audio) in portrait or landscape mode. The built-in mic captures audio along with the video. So with the iPod new nano video, you can capture your favourite moments along with enjoying exceptional quality music. After recording, you can playback the recorded videos on your iPod nano or share it in YouTube or Facebook. To let you add special effects to the recorded video, nano provides fifteen fun video effects like Film Grain, Cyborg, Motion Blur, Mirror and more. The videos recorded with nano are ideal for watching in your computer and sharing over the internet. The new iPod nano can now double as your personal video camera as well.

Larger Screen

The new iPod nano video sports a larger 2.2-inch wide TFT colour display with resolution of 240 x 376 for your viewing pleasure. The display has adjustable contrast and backlight settings and makes it easier to read in low light. An alternative large font can make menus easier to read. Captions in video are displayed when they are present using a legible, high-contrast white-on-black font.

FM Radio with Live Pause

Finally Apple adds FM radio to iPod nano - with a new innovative feature - Live Pause. Live Pause lets you pause live FM radio with a single click. Another click and you’re listening to your station again. You can even rewind as far back as 15 minutes, then fast-forward to catch up to the live broadcast.

Genius Player

Genius Playlists:
With the new iPod nano "Genius", you can choose a favourite song from your library and it makes a Genius playlist for you automatically. You can then listen to the playlist right away, save it for later, or even refresh and give it another go.

Genius Mixes:
The intelligent "Genius Mixes" feature in the new iPod nano allows you to get customized group of songs on iPod nano automatically. All you do is sync your iPod nano to iTunes and Genius automatically searches your library and finds songs that sound great together. These genre-based mixes are picked automatically from your library and its a great way to rediscover songs you haven’t listened to for ages, and some you even forgot you had.

Shake to shuffle your music:
With new iPod nano, you can shuffle songs in a new stylish way. Just turn on "Shake to Shuffle", then give iPod nano a shake, the built-in accelerometer detects the shake and plays a different song in your music library.

Other Features

Voice Recording:
The built-in mic lets you capture a thought, a reminder, a class lecture or any audio recording you want with Voice Memos.

VoiceOver:
VoiceOver speaks the names of songs and artists. So you can navigate your music without looking at the screen. Just use the Click Wheel or the controls on the optional Apple Earphones and VoiceOver tells you the song name and who’s performing it without interrupting your music. So you’re never distracted from your ride or run by looking down at your screen.

Fitness:
The new iPod nano now doubles as a Pedometer. The built-in Pedometer counts every step you take. So the new nano can help you stay fit! It uses the built-in accelerometer to keep track of your steps and help you meet your fitness goals. You can create a daily step goal or set it to Always On so it counts all the steps you take, all the time. This makes iPod nano double as your ideal exercise partner.
